I have a small group; an infant, a 2 year old, and two 4 year olds. I really believe that children do not get enough play time. I would like to incorporate more learning experiences during their time with me. I also believe that reading A LOT teaches a child to love to read which inturn makes them good readers when they get to school. Can you give me any ideas for all age groups at the same time? Thank You
Parents do not bring their children early enough to enable me to stay on schedule with my program. I have talked, written to them but still no improvement or change. It is a concern to me.
I think the biggest challenge I face everyday is to keep my focus on having fun and enjoying the day. These children will have numerous opportunities to learn all the “stuff” they need to learn. They won’t remember what you taught them but they will remember how they felt when with you.
I am having a difficult time getting calls for childcare. I would love to know how to get more children in my childcare. I have a great program and I have my advertisments out there, but I am also competing with centers, nannys, babysitters, grandparents and relatives. What more can I do?
I agree with Dawn, how do you compete with others out there babysitting. Most of the people in our area our not licensed and I feel frustrated that I have to go by standards required and I believe in those standards, but it is not fair for the unemployeed person that just opens up their door and says, I’m babysitting now, and I will charge you less. I don’t really know who all they are, but they are out there taking away business from licensed homes and centers.
