I got lost last week.

I got lost last week.  I discovered that I had unknowingly wandered into a very unpleasant place.  Everyone and everything I encountered was either intentionally trying to block my progress or just too dense to understand what I was trying to do.  There was no one who appreciated my efforts.  After a while, I couldn’t even remember, myself, why I was here trying to pursue this goal of building a childcare community.  I felt like I was trying to climb a mountain in iron boots.  I kept asking myself, “How did I get to this place?”  I kept struggling with it until I finally hit a wall and could go no further and just gave up even trying to find my way out.  That’s when it hit me! The Power of Choice as a Creative Guidance Tool

There are several options available when it comes to guiding and disciplining a child.  All of these techniques – as well as others you choose to use, should have a system in place that guides, instead of punishes.  You also want to focus on reinforcing good behavior, while at the same time building a nice rapport with the child.  This lets the child know that you are not just looking at their bad behavior, but you are also excited for all the good things they do.
